this series is very very important to me and even though there's a lot of discourse regarding the (sometimes questionable) decisions by the showrunners i'm obsessed with literally every aspect of it

cause when i discovered the first trilogy i was like a whole different person. the person who read those books was a 6th grade girl that was lost in the world and about to fall in love with a craft that would follow her through so many developments in his life. tamar was my favorite character - i was in love with this walking armory an unhealthy amount and seriously thought i just "really liked her as a character." but that was really just the bisexuality stirring, then having tamar be canonically queer was probably the most important thing for me at the time because it broke me out of my naive worldview and showed me that queerness was, well, real. it feels so weird to be a trans man simping for a canonically lesbian character but seeing her on screen, with her axes and eyeliner and fiery attitude, how could i not? the part of me that loved her then still loves her now and the actress absolutely slayed the role (just look at the gifsets omg)

and then there's six of crows, which freshman-year ness latched onto so desperately because it was queer representation and it was good and being able to see two characters be happy together was a sort of thing i hungered for. and now they're on screen, walking and talking and moving, helping each other through the internal conflicts they're both simultaneously facing, and even though their relationship was rushed i think it makes so much room for the development that's to come. and of course the actors are literally amazing and i really don't get why people are hating on them because every little change they made was perfect. and not to mention jespers outfits omg he's my role model with that stupid brown yellow and purple tattersall suit with orange socks and a fucking kilt.

oh and then there's nikolai, who i properly hated until like a year ago, he's insufferable and scheming and stupid and charming and really fucking beautiful. he's a dreamer and an inventor and he's so annoying i'd kiss him to shut him up and i'm gonna put one of his quotes as my phone background because he has so many good ones

and there's david who's just so me-coded because he's a nerd that's horrible with human interaction and has all these funky mannerisms that i also have (like holding up one finger when you want to make a point but don't want to interrupt) and he said so many of the iconic lines that melted my heart in the books and he should be the role model of what men should be and his ending is so unfair to me and all the other fans because how could they do that to us

2) Majima/Makoto has a death grip on my soul like goddamn i could write an essay on their dynamic and what people look over. don’t request the essay because i can and will do it.

3) Kiryu/Nishiki is classic and wholesome i mean come on.

4) Akiyama/Hana, mostly just because I want good things for Hana not like the *gags* y4 epilogue i mean actual good things. love these will-they-won’t-theys.

5) Ichiban/Joon-Gi Han/Zhao; i dont have a lot of poly ships HOWEVER

6) Mine/Daigo someone once said in tags on my gifset that im fucking insane for this one which not like in a way that excuses Mine’s actions or anything but in the way that Mine is actually interesting compared to the other yakuza villains who have NOTHING going on. That's true, Bly is definitely more Gothic. When I compare them with each other, I like Bly more based on story, characters and the overall feeling you get while watching 👀 but that's just my personal opinion. Hill House made me a really huge fan of the whole series. It's not just dumb horror it's a well thought through story with so many details and twists, it's perfectly done.  

Haha well he's not as interesting as Jamie so it's easy to forget about him 😉 

To his whole backstory, yeah I mean he had a traumatic childhood and it made him who he is now, but even after episode 7 I had no sympathy for him, like nothing. OJC did portray him perfectly, there's no doubt about it, but just his character and how he treated Rebecca and the kids just made me hate him and there was nothing that could change that. I have to say it was kinda hard for me to hate him because in Hill House, I loved Luke and now seeing him playing the complete opposite of that was definitely interesting 😅 

Everyone was shocked by this scene but I loved it 😂 it was just great how Viola just came and shut him off

This scene...oh my 👌 I've watched it so often and it gives me goosebumps every time I watch it again, too. That's such a good shot, the whole atmosphere was perfect. And then Dani, with so much nervousness in her voice, saying this line 🥰 the way Jamie looks at her after it and then the hand holding, makes me realize how much I love them every time 💕 

I mean, yeah, their whole story was perfect, nothing happened without a reason and that's the same with the ending. I can't say I will ever get used to it, I'd have rather liked to see them happy till the end, as cheesy as it sounds, but I just don't get the reason behind of destroying a good relationship in the most cruel way possible. And I also know that it kinda had to end like this but it caused so much struggle for me, I was so sad after watching it, I felt so empty and I know it's just a show but I was heartbroken at the end. Like really heartbroken, and even after watching it a few times I have to prepare myself for the end cause it destroys me every time. But yeah it caused a much bigger impact, thats for sure.

I can agree to everything you just said in this! And it's true, the show reminds yourself of many things in your own life even if it reminds me of sad things mostly but it's still unusual for a show to have so much impact and thats wonderful 👏

OJC was jarring for me, too, but by the time I watched Bly, I’d gotten wind that 1). he played Luke and 2). he was supposed to be the gardener but people were like, “it’d be weird seeing the siblings play lovers” so he was cast as Quint instead. So to see him as Luke, it was still a shock, but... a mini one.  It is also worth pointing out that if he had played Jamie... I don’t think I would be this invested in Bly.

His pre-death scene? LOL, I screamed so loud when that happened and almost threw my phone. I had an inkling based on what Rebecca said, but... good christ. It got me.

Re: the ending again Yeah, I mean, I completely understand how it feels. Personally, I can’t really say that I felt differently, particularly after the first watch - I was left empty, too, and so so shattered. Even now, if I have to go back and see clips of the ending, I still get teary-eyed. Some days I would just randomly put on I Shall Believe, or Frank Ocean’s Godspeed, and just... cry. Generally, there’s always going to be that part of us, when we see stories that resonate with us but have sad/tragic endings, that holds up for that bit of hope that they’d defy the odds and conquer whatever it is that life throws at them, That maybe this time as we see them again, they’ll prevail. But... alas.

Re: Nell Crain, this blog is her stan account, and adult Steven can kindly go away. Which, if I’m being honest, I was underwhelmed by Michiel Huisman in Hill House. I mean I saw him in Orphan Black and I remember walking away from the episode where he’s in it thinking, “oh this guy’s good.” And then I see him here and he’s just... there? Everyone made me feel and everyone had that Thing that made me relate to them easier. Not him.

Honestly with Love Quinn... I obviously do not know how batshit crazy she is, but judging from the GIFsets... she’s a chef. I’m studying to be one. To be honest, I wasn't sure if your message was an accusation because you were the anon whose sent me the cersei x euron ask and you ship it or if you simply ship Jaime x Cersei and were curious why I ship it too lol. I'm always cautious when I receive that kind of ask ahah and sorry for the late reply, I've spent too much time writing it.

So here I go!

First of all, I think this is the most important ship in the show I mostly speak about the show because I haven't read all the books yet with Ned x Cat (I could add Rh*egar x Lyanna but I don't ship it). Without them, no story because no war of the five Kings. And by that, I don't mean ''Cersei wanted their bastard(s) on the throne''. No, I mean people like Littlefinger (or Varys, Stannis and Renly to some extent) found the evidence of their dirty little secret and used it to start a war for their own profit. Littlefinger comploted with Lysa Arryn to kill her husband and then let the Starks believe that the Lannisters were responsibles of that murder.And Jaime pushing Bran out of that window to protect them lead that spark. Without that defining moment, Cat wouldn't have tried to search proofs in the tower, wouldn't have gone to King's Landing to warn Ned, wouldn't have kidnapped Tyrion and hurt Tywin's pride, Ned wouldn't have found Jon Arryn's researches and confontred Cersei about Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen being bastards, etc.Littlefinger said "Chaos is ladder." and he was right, this relationship lead to the actual chaos in Westeros. You remove it from the equation and you lost a big part of the story. I wish some people could see that.

This is something they both want. People will say : "But this is unhealthy!!! Well sure, Jan but this is Game is Thrones ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What do you expect? Even then, shipping something doesn't mean accepting everything they do and frankly, unlike some people like to believe, it goes both ways with these two. So yeah, this is something they both want, they said countless time they love each others. Hell, even Jaime told this to Edmure and said he can laugh at it if he wants to, like "eat it, bitch !". Jaime wants to marry her, he's angry when she refuses and jealous af. It's worse in the books but we can see it during the season 7 with Euron. And he's ready to give her another child after Joffrey's death (I wanted by the way making a gifset with this quote and when Cersei tells him she's pregnant with baby!Lannister in the S7 but I forgot because I'm a dumb bitch... 🙄). As for Cersei, she choose love over the kingdom, she choose to have her children with the man who made her feel safe, not her abusive husband, Jaime gives her the little agency she can have. This is terribly human...

Forbidden love! I'm such a slut for this trope and honestly, Romeo and Juliet are pretty boring next to Jaime and Cersei. Well, I remember back when I watched The Borgias and I shipped (and I still do!)  Cesare and Lucrezia, I used to feel so ashamed for shipping them but now, I don't care. Yeah, I love this trope and shipping is supposed to be fun. Give me two persons who romantically love each others but aren't supposed too, hello the angst! I'm on board! After all; We don't choose whom we love.

Time. They spend their lifetime together! This is another trope I love. They are born together and they are obsessed by it. My romantic ass can't help but loving long-term relationship. They can't see themselves without the other (if this phrase makes sense) and it makes me laugh when people say "Jaime is so over Cersei ass" sorry but hello? They lived for 42 years together, have been involved for almost 30 years romantically, had 3 (almost 4) children together and you except him to forget her just like that? LMAO

I think I could add more reasons but this is really the first ones that pop into my mind and if I keep going, I will never finish...

As for my favorite scenes :

The Reunion in S3: This is by far my fave! The look on their faces OMG... especially Cersei, she looks like she can't breathe. No words needed or big love declaration, simply their faces. That's what I call good acting. Oh, I remember this fanart, where they fall into each others arms, it was so pretty! I felt robbed after seeing that. But I don't remember the author. 😭

The Morning After in 7x03: I know most of the fans hated this season but theses scenes were pure bliss for me and I was ready to take every crumbs I could have. And oh God, this scene looked like I wrote it myself. And the maid... I want her face when she saw Jaime in the bed on my grave, I will never be over this!

The Moment After Cersei Told Tywin The Truth in 4x10: Well, it was pretty hot!

The Hug in 1x03: Same as the one above. And I think Jaime's quote sums up their relationship : And if he does, I'll kill him. Him, Ned Stark, the King... the whole bloody lot of them, until you and I are the only people left in this world.

That Scene Just After Jaime Came Back with Myrcella in 6x01: Cersei is devasted by Myrcella's death, she's depressed and it breaks my heart everytime. 😭 And at the same time, it's a beautiful scene but yeah, I always end up in tears.

And so many more! I could also talk about the moments when they are apart and think/talk about the other. Theses little clues people barely notice. Like Cersei, talking to Sansa saying Jaime was with her during Joffrey's birth, or saying to Tyrion she wonder what Jaime is doing, worried, or saying to I-don't-remember-who he's not been forgotten, or just before they reunite, when she's looking at the shell, I can't stop thinking this is a reminiscence of their childhood at Casterly Rock (I know someone else wrote that too not so long ago). Or Jaime, saying to Jory Cassel (I think) that Robert is humiliating her by whoring in front of everyone, or when Roose Bolton tell him that Stannis attacked King's Landing but he failed and that Cersei is safe, Jaime fell on his knees, everyone think it's because of the loss of his hand and he's exhausted by the trip but he's simply relieved that Cersei is alive. All these little things...Yes.

There is one micro moment from the books I would have loved to see on my screen tho, that kiss Ned catched during the Hand's tourney. He see Jaime kissing a woman and we all know it's Cersei disguised, but not Ned. It's short but I really love that moment.

I wish GRRM could write a book only about them to be honest, at this point. There is so many possibilities and I have so many headcanons. This isn't nice George, make a girl happy! I also think there relationship is more toxic in the books than in the show and they freaking need to talk! And my stupid romantic ass also want them to have a happy ending sometimes, I can't help myself, even if I know it's not gonna happen. Oh, and I also think their fate will be slightly different in the show but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I really love them. I have to admit that sometimes, it really piss me off to see how people treat them, the double standards they instaured between these two make me want to gouge my eyes out and I'm disgusted by the fact they want them to f*ck someone else, especially while Cersei is pregnant. 🙄 But at least, I stay in my lane.

Louie - She’s brought home Alex if that counts?

Harper - Harper isn’t really an animal person so I don’t think she’d bring one home but she’d defo give up her sandwich if she saw a stray dog on the street

Lola - Prefic Lola would never but the Lola who has broken away from her parents and responsibilities is learning all about this kind of stuff ends up adopting a stray cat (who lbr actually is the one who adopts her)

Noelle - Noe would bring every single stray home if she could - including Fangs and Sweet Pea! Her and her mum could never afford to get their own animals so she’d bring any that she saw back home...to the point where when she was younger her mum had to explain it was normal for cats to be out even if they had owners. Dogs are defo her weakness although she was known to even bring injured birds, mice etc home

Stella - If there was any possibility Noe and Stella could meet they’d start an animal sanctuary together because she’s as bad!

Louie - Louie and Lexie know that the other still suffers from nightmares. Obviously Mark and Alex know they can have trouble sleeping but they don’t know the contents of the dreams whereas the girls are constantly telling one another to get them off their chest

Harper - Harper doesn't really have a best friend tbh! If her and Mal were canon Mal would be the one who’d know about her fears of her past...she’d feel too bad dumping that on Bucky when he’s been through enough himself

Lola - Lola isn’t a sharer. She has had friends who were only her friend because she had money so there’s nothing someone knows about her no one else does

Noelle - Noe and Fangs know pretty much everything about each other! 

Stella - Her and Michael know how overwhelmed the other is with their new life in the big city. No matter what fronts they put up they still have that terrified streak.

Louie - Hugs, hugs and more hugs!

13. How does your OC celebrate their birthday? What is their wildest birthday story?

Louie - She has all of her friends and their kids round to eat cake and watch movies. Her wildest was probably when she was still at home, her parents were away and she had a party at the house, police were called and she ended up arrested for being too noisy

Harper - She doesn’t really celebrate birthdays

Lola - She likes to be the centre of attention on her birthday, everything is about her from morning until night...and probably for the entire month tbh. Her wildest birthday is probably to come in the fic, partying barefoot on the beach with three gang members

Noelle - She is a Princess on her birthday, she absolutely loves it (and not just her own she loves everyones birthdays and always tries to make them special). Her wildest was probably when they were young and they (her, Fangs, Toni and Sweet Pea) snuck out to go and camp at the quarry. All of them ended up being reported as missing until they strolled into her place the next morning smelling like campfire.

Stella - She likes a lowkey celebration for her birthday, again her wildest is probably to come. I can imagine the Shelby's have a wild time for birthdays

Louie - They’d be at Joes because they’d probably have been having a lock in. The owner would trust her with her key as well so her, Alex, Lexie, Mark, Meredith and all the others would have the run of the place

Harper - Her and Bucky would be in a local take away because they couldn’t sleep

Lola - They’d be going out for ice cream after a night of partying

Noelle - Pops, especially after Veronica takes over, and because they’d hate sleeping in the tents and would need cheese fries to help them get over it

Stella - It’s not a restaurant but they’d still be drinking in The Garrison pub

Louie - Light blue to match her scrubs

Harper - Black, Shuri would add it to her uniform and Harper would lowkey adore it

No worries about Westworld! It’s a reasonable assumption! Please don’t apologise, my friend. I do agree that Thandie was very good in S1. IIRC, her character was my fav (other than Clementine lol). Yvonne S2 was just next level shit to me. Like, what you’re saying makes me wanna give S2 WW another shot but when shows get overcomplicated, they’re not much fun anymore when I’m like “BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING LOL”.

EXACT SAME. It was actually in THT fandom most recently lol. Like, I reblogged one of their pretty edits once. Ever. I didn’t even say anything snarky or bitchy or rude in tags. I don’t think I added any commentary at all. Next thing I know? BLOCKED. Never interacted with them in any way whatsoever. (Typical N/J fangirl lol.) It’s the strangest behaviour and it’s that kind of thing that sours me towards sects of fangirls, and sometimes even the characters they like. Maybe that’s just petty but I think it actually just reinforces pre-existing feelings I had towards the character or pairing.) The only blogs I block are ones that are gross, RP, or spam. (RP blogs is a long history of them stealing and spamming and adding awful commentary to my posts way back in the day, so I just… block em. lol.)

Oh. My… WHAT. There’s a very odd sense of entitlement here that seems so peculiar to me. Like, that’s what the blacklisting feature is for? I’ve put every version of my most despised pairings, characters, etc. and it works? Very rarely does it miss on. I guess we’re just dramaphobic, mature old fandom farts. OKAY. Spoilers. It’s not much but other than the June in Martha costume (which was shown in the teaser Superbowl trailer anyway by now)… there were set pics of Emily, Sylvia, Nicole, and Luke all happy and smiling. IIRC. I can’t find the post anymore. So it may not have been in character. But I dunno… it all seems… too easy? Like, I’m glad Emily is safe but omg. She’d better not be all hunky dory “I stabbed a lady and threw her down the stairs, murdered another, and ran a dude over with a stolen car, but now I’m Canada, I’m all healed!” (Not including the heart attack/crotch kicking here cos that was fair play to Emily. She deserved that.) Like, honestly, as much part of me was like YESSSS at all of those, still… that’s grievous bodily harm with intent to kill, flat out murder, and vehicular manslaughter. For Emily to do those things, you don’t do those crimes without being really broken and damaged. And… yeah. That doesn’t magically disappear when you hop over a border.
